Day 3-5 of Project 365

Jan 3/13..."Heart" When I see the Saskatchewan Roughrider logo, it isn't just about a football team. It means home....where I was born and raised....where most of my family still live...where my heart is and always will be ♥

Jan 4/13..."The view from here" We love going for drives to enjoy the wonderful views around the city.

Day 1 and 2 of Project 365

Jan 1/13 "Today" Today was supposed to be filled with cleaning, organizing, taking down Christmas decorations, etc but it ended up just being a "relax and chill" sort of day...those are always good too ;)

Jan 2/13..."Something New" I finally made the jump from a point-and-shoot camera to a DSLR and now I need to practice with the manual modes and step up my photography skills....exciting!

Hello 2013!

Welcome to the first day of a new year...whoot whoot! Last year was an interesting year with lots of great things going on and a whole lot of busy....busy...busy...busy! Normally, I would have it all on here but alas, I fell of the blogger wagon...again :( I'm certainly not saying that 2013 will be any better but I am going to try :) I have a brand-spanking new Canon EOS Rebel T3 with two great lenses and they are just itching for a workout. I would love to say that I am going to commit to a Project 365 type photo-a-day thing this year but come on...that just isn't going to happen, is it? I am going to commit to a 52 week photo adventure and see where that takes me. I am fully convinced that this will also kick-start my mojo and get me back in my scrapbooking space which has also been sorely neglected this past year. Sigh. Anyways, as they say...onwards and upwards! Last night, we spent New Year's Eve with our friend's, The Tarbet's. It was a great night of food, laughter, fun, and...dare I say...a little competitiveness when it came to the games...all in good fun though! It was a such a great way to ring in 2013 :)

Ok...here`s the creative and crafty things I`ve made so far this year!

These twisted ruffle scarves are all the rage this year. They aren`t really my style, but what the heck, they are quick and easy to whip up for gifts ;)



I came up with this layout as one of my challenges for the recent Frosty Frolic Crop at Absolutely Alter It. I used scraps from this layouts as well as a few extras from the same paper pack to make 5 cards. Easy peasy!!













I`m still working on my first album pages for Project Life 2012 but I will update those as soon as they are ready :)

Quick update

Well, so far, 2012 sure has been busy! Lots of overtime at work due to people being sick (all part of working in a drug store where sick people go to get medication and spread their germs...yuck!).

I worked all weekend during the Absolutely Alter It! Frosty Frolic Crop but I did manage to get my layout challenge and card challenge completed so I will update the blog with photos soon (no sunshine weather to take good pics). I have all of the other challenges posted by the Design Team written down so that I can work on them when I get some time.

Project Life update--still haven`t physically started the pages yet but I have been taking a few pics and printed some off to use. I really need to be more diligent with taking pics daily even though my life is pretty boring...lol.

Creative update--I started knitting again! An online friend from Sisterhood of Scrap (Carla), posted pics of a twisted ruffle scarf that she had completed for her daughter. I know my daughter would love it and the instructions were simple enough and it is really quite a quick project to complete. The hardest part of it was finding the specialty wool that you need! Thankfully, Cheryl (also from SOS) was able to hook me up with 3 balls of wool so I can make 3 scarves :) Need to get about a dozen more as I will be making these for Christmas presents for my sister, the sister-in-laws, etc next year. I hope to be all finished them by spring. So far, I have worked about 2.5-3 hours on the scarf and I think I`m half way done. No worries about posting a spoiler b/c none of them read my blog anyways....tragic, I know :(

I will post pics of our holiday happenings as well as my creative projects this week....PROMISE!!

Absolutely Alter It is having a Frosty Frolic Crop this weekend! There will be an Early Bird Challenge posted on Friday with the bulk of the challenges, make n takes and games on Saturday and Sunday. The Design Team has lots of fun in store for everyone. Frolic on over and don`t forget to bring your friends along as well. I hope to see you there!

Welcome 2012!

Wow, 2011 seemed to just fly by didn`t it! I was so busy with work over the holidays that we went with a `simple christmas`theme. I didn`t stress out with what was getting done or what wasn`t. The only decorations I had out were the Christmas tree and the wreath on the door. I didn`t worry about baking or what appies to make for Christmas Eve, etc. It wasn`t our `normal`Christmas but we all enjoyed it anyways. We even tried out some new stuff this year.

Since I was working on Christmas Day again, I decided that instead of just opening one present on Christmas Eve (the traditional Christmas Eve pj`s), we would open all of the presents that weren`t from Santa (yes, the odd Santa gift winds up under the tree before Christmas morning). That way we could enjoy seeing what everyone got instead of being in such a rush to do it Christmas morning before I went to work. I think it was a great idea! No stress and more sleep :) We actually ended up having 3 gift opening sessions...one Christmas Eve...one Christmas morning...and one Christmas Day before supper with Courtney and John. Even though the boys would have gotten the same amount of gifts it seemed like they had more this way...lol.
